SynBella was founded in 2011 as a traditional wellness vendor by our current CEO, Cassie Sobelton after a major health scare and subsequent full recovery. Cassie learned the value of a healthy mind and body, especially as it related to her productivity, absenteeism, presenteeism and engagement at work. She was a Director of Operations in the automotive sector and realized that most corporations were taking better care of their machinery than their people.

SynBella was initially founded with the typical offerings of most employee wellness vendors (online portals, health assessments, biometric and other preventive screenings, annual PCP visit campaigns, flu vaccination clinics, onsite health fairs and presentations, etc.), but realized the market was quickly gaining momentum, becoming very saturated and sadly, most traditional vendors and their products were unsuccessful in engaging employees or showing results.

It was then that SynBella strategically pivoted to become a wellbeing consulting firm. We realized through exposure to large corporations, various employee benefit offerings, health plans and benefit brokers and a rapidly changing market, that employers have access to many free and low cost wellbeing tools, but find difficulty crafting their strategy, engaging employees and measuring their results.

And this is where SynBella shines.

We have found that the individual fields of employee engagement and wellbeing complement each other in surprising, and what turns out to be inseparable, ways. This focus, coupled with technology advancement, expert consultation and an honest passion for the subject, has allowed SynBella to grow into the top wellbeing consultancy to brokers, health plans, vendors and employers.

Cassie Sobelton

From working at a major health system to a benefit broker, health plan and traditional wellness vendor, Cassie has been an expert in the field of personal wellness and employee wellbeing for well over a decade. As a frequent contributor to numerous media outlets, she has educated business leaders, employees and the public by way of recurring health segments on WXYZ, health and wellness podcast, a variety of print features, recurring radio shows, and various webinars.

She made headlines in 2010 when honored as 30 Under 30 in Dbusiness magazine’s inaugural year of recognizing business leaders making a mark in Michigan and throughout the world. Again in 2012, Cassie was honored as an Elite 40 Under 40 by Oakland County, as they recognize and spotlight dynamic leaders under the age of 40 who are making a difference in Oakland County and beyond. And again, in 2015 she was the first honoree to receive the GDAHC (Greater Detroit Area Health Council) Breakthrough Award. The award honors an individual or organization for their impact on the health and wellbeing of southeast Michigan through community engagement and innovation.

Cassie has been a thought leader in the employer wellbeing market for over a decade and continues to be a sought after consultant within the industry.
